Forward Church family, you are all invited to attend the church-wide Bible study, The Steps to Freedom in Christ by Neil T. Anderson.

No matter where you are on your faith journey, this study is described as “a wonderfully refreshing spiritual check-up”. A big focus of this study is to highlight attitudes and behaviors that need to change and to uncover areas where our faith is not as strong as we would like it to be. We will look at:

· condemning thoughts
· patterns of wrong behavior
· spiritual struggles
· and hopelessness

This study will go hand in hand with what we will be learning in our upcoming sermon series on Galatians.

Please make plans to join us every Wednesday evening beginning August 28th from 6:30-8:30pm here at Forward. This is a 10 week study.

Childcare will be provided, and the deadline for this is Sunday, August 25th. Stop by the Welcome Desk to sign up for the study and sign up for childcare if needed. You can also purchase a workbook there for only $7 or click the link below to purchase the workbook now.

Men of Forward, there are a couple of updates on our Tuesday morning Bible study.

First we are moving locations from Coffee Crossing to Panera Bread on State Street. We are also wrapping up Proverbs this week and will begin a study on the book of Acts. So if you are interested, and have not had a chance to gather with us yet, this is a great time to jump in and study with other men from Forward Church. We will meet every Tuesday morning from 7-8am.

We hope you will join us! For any questions, reach out to Brent Kulwicki at brentkulwicki@gmail.com

The Propel Middle & High School Ministry is back in session meeting at the church on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm. Please reach out and invite those you know to join us as we start a new curriculum called, The Thread. Through this study, students will learn the big-picture story of Scripture and learn what the Gospel is and how it literally courses through the narrative of the Bible.

We believe it’s important for our youth to see how Jesus can be found on every page of the Bible, so please invite others, share, and pray for a strong youth ministry!

Women of Forward, come out and experience an evening on a backyard homestead and small-scale flower farm on Saturday, August 24th at 6pm.

You don’t need a lot of space to grow your own healthy food and live a simpler, sustainable lifestyle. During the evening, you will have the opportunity to learn about the no-till garden method and observe how to create one of your own.  You will also learn how to grow, cook, preserve, and forage your own food. Then use the fruits of your labor to create simple, healthy meals to enjoy and share with friends and family. Part of the evening will also include creating and wrapping a fresh flower bouquet to share with family and friends. This will be a great time of fellowship, as we enjoy a farm to table meal together.

If you are interested, signup at the Welcome Center on Sunday.

Our Fall Womens Retreat is November 7th-9th at the Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County, Indiana. We have a couple of rooms left and we would love to have as many go as possible, so if you’ve been on the fence, please consider signing up and going.

Click on the link below to pay for the $50 registration fee. For any questions, please reach out to Lisa Sutherland at lisa@forwardchurchfamily.com.

Women of Forward, helping with Breakaway meals is a great way you can get involved in the community. Each month we are honored to serve the ladies at the Breakaway house, which is located just down the road from Forward Church. Volunteers from our church provide a meal and visit for a couple of hours with the ladies that live there.

Typically we need 4-5 women to serve. Our next dates for serving will be the Sundays of September 15th and October 13th. If you are able to help, please stop by the Welcome Desk and sign up. For any questions, email Tonia Hatfield at Hatfield912@gmail.com.

Chest Of Joash

The Chest of Joash provides an opportunity to give above and beyond the normal tithe. The money from it goes directly to work needed done on our building.

In 2 Chronicles 24 we find Joash repairing the temple and a chest was set outside of it for people to bring a tithe that was used to pay the workers restoring the temple. Verse 10 says, “And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.”

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have joyfully donated just as the Israelite officials and people did!

You can give to the Chest of Joash by clicking the button below and selecting “Chest of Joash” in the drop down menu.
