Join us this coming Wednesday, August 7th, from 6:30-7:30pm as we make “Birthdays in a Bag” for our local Blessings in a Backpack.
Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for school-aged children across America who might otherwise go hungry. Not only do they provide food for children, but our local chapter also tries to give each child in their program a birthday cake for their birthday.
We will be helping them with this by putting together the pans of ingredients that they will then be able to pass on to the children. Our goal will be to provide 100 “Birthdays in a Bag”! This is an exciting time for the children and families of Forward to get to be a blessing to other children and families in our community. We hope you will join us in this opportunity to serve together!
Donations needed:
• Boxed cake mixes
• Tubs of icing
• Cans of Sprite
• Candles
• 9×13 foil throw away pans
This Sunday, August 4th, will be the last day to take donations. Thank you!
Propel Middle & High will be having a Back-to-School Party at Forward this Wednesday, August 7th, from 7:30-8:30pm following the Blessings in a Backpack event. There will be games and food. All middle and high school students are invited!!
Propel will be back to their regular gatherings, meeting at the church from 7-8:30pm every Wednesday night, beginning August 14th.
Next Saturday, August 10th, is the Back In School Event. This is hosted by local Uptown New Albany businesses to benefit the community. This event will be held in the Forward Church parking lot from 11am-1pm. There will be several booths set up with free donations such as haircuts, health screenings, and food.
Forward Church family, come on out and support this great event and hopefully meet some neighbors.
Women of Forward, come out and experience an evening on a backyard homestead and small-scale flower farm.
You don’t need a lot of space to grow your own healthy food and live a simpler, sustainable lifestyle. During the evening, you will have the opportunity to learn about the no-till garden method and observe how to create one of your own. You will also learn how to grow, cook, preserve, and forage your own food. Then use the fruits of your labor to create simple, healthy meals to enjoy and share with friends and family. Part of the evening will also include creating and wrapping a fresh flower bouquet to share with family and friends.
This will be a great time of fellowship, as we enjoy a farm to table meal together.
If you are interested, signup at the Welcome Center to receive the location of the class.

Women of Forward, helping with Breakaway meals is a great way you can get involved in the community. Each month we are honored to serve the ladies at the Breakaway house, which is located just down the road from Forward Church. Volunteers from our church provide a meal and visit for a couple of hours with the ladies that live there.
Typically we need 4-5 women to serve. Our next dates for serving will be the Sundays of August 11th, September 15th and October 13th. If you are able to help for any of these dates, please stop by the Welcome Desk and sign up. For any questions, email Tonia Hatfield at Hatfield912@gmail.com.

Chest Of Joash
The Chest of Joash provides an opportunity to give above and beyond the normal tithe. The money from it goes directly to work needed done on our building.
In 2 Chronicles 24 we find Joash repairing the temple and a chest was set outside of it for people to bring a tithe that was used to pay the workers restoring the temple. Verse 10 says, “And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.”
A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have joyfully donated just as the Israelite officials and people did!
You can give to the Chest of Joash by clicking the button below and selecting “Chest of Joash” in the drop down menu.
