Gingerbread Bash
The Gingerbread Bash will be a family event on Saturday, December 3rd from 4:00-6:00! This will be a time for families to come together, build a gingerbread nativity and complete various activities, all while keeping the focus on the true meaning of Christmas! If you would like to attend, this will be an event that you need to sign up for so that we’re sure to have enough supplies. The deadline to sign up will be on Sunday, November 27th.
ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TEA
Hostesses Needed!
Our annual Christmas Tea is usually the first Friday of December but this year it will be the second Friday, December 9th starting at 6:30 and will be held in the Ballroom at the Calumet Club! The tea is always a success in part to our great table hostesses! We need hostesses to decorate a table and to welcome others to join them!
If you would be interested in hosting a table at the Tea this year, you can sign up out at the Welcome Center or get with Beth Grider!
We are always blessed when we get to see our forKids Choir singing and worshipping on the stage. They’ll be performing again on Sunday, December 18th! This time they’ll be performing as a forKids Choir and Handbell Choir. Kids ages 4 through 5th grade can sign up out at the Welcome Center.
MEN'S RETREAT
We have good news and we have bad news. The bad news first – due to circumstances outside of their control, the location of our men’s retreat has had to cancel on us again. BUT…that leads us to the GOOD NEWS! We have rescheduled with a much more appealing location!
The Men’s Retreat will now spend Jan 25-28 in sunny Florida! Our new location is just outside of Panama City. You will not want to miss this time of deepening relationships with God and the Men of Forward.
The cost will now be $275 per person which will include travel, lodging, and meals. Please do not let the cost keep you from going. If you need help paying for the trip, scholarships will be available. Anything that you already paid for the men’s retreat can either be refunded or applied to the new retreat. Spots will be limited, so sign up as soon as possible!
A basic schedule is to leave Indiana early am Jan 25th, spend the night of 25th-27th, return home from Florida early am Jan 28th.
FRIENDS FOREVER FUND
Pastor Neil talked this past Sunday about a Friends Forever Fund that we’re starting. If you missed the sermon, you can check it out through our website, Youtube and Facebook. To summarize, we will have a year end Friends Forever Fund ceremony on Christmas Day. Please be praying about how you can be a shrewd manager of what God has given to you, in order to make a generous gift to this fund. You can begin giving immediately if you’d like. You can go online, click giving, click on “FFF” in the dropdown menu to designate the giving, and start giving today. Or you can choose to save up/raise money and give it all as one sum on Christmas Day. On Christmas Day, we will celebrate what God has done and is doing through the generous hearts of His people!
- Goal is to raise $100,000
- $90,000 will directly pay down the mortgage debt
- $10,000 will be sent to RIP Debt to pay off an estimated $1 Million dollars of medical debt in our area!
- Moving forward, 100% of all money donated to the Friends Forever Fund will pay down debt until the mortgage is paid off.
CELEBRATE!
Our goal was to provide 100 boxes of fudge for Hope Southern Indiana’s Thanksgiving Baskets this year and as a church you provided 109! We want to THANK YOU for helping support this local mission and providing Thanksgiving desserts for 100 families in need in our community.
11th ANNIVERSARY PRAYER AND FASTING
If you were with us this past Sunday you received a handout about 12 things to be praying over Forward as we head toward year 12. You can see the contents of the handout below and we ask that you join us tomorrow (Saturday, Nov 5th) in fasting in some way and praying over our church.
We are asking you to join us in fasting and praying on Saturday, November 5. We will end the fast together on Sunday morning with Holy Communion.
12 things for us to unite in prayer over as we fast for year 12 as a Church Family.
- That we would be All About Jesus in everything that we say and do.
- That we would worship with all of our heart, mind, soul focused on Jesus.
- That we would be missionaries that live our lives pointing others to Jesus.
- That we would be true disciples that follow Jesus with our lives and help others follow Jesus.
- That we would be a church family that loves each other, serves each other, encourages each other as a part of the body of Jesus.
- That we would have unity amid diversity as we love those with whom we have nothing in common but the Gospel of Jesus.
- That a hunger for studying the Bible would form among us so that we can guide and guard one another in it.
- That the preaching of God’s Word would be biblically careful and Holy Spirit inspired.
- That elders would remain above reproach, kept from temptation, complacency, idols, and worldliness. That they would shepherd the church family effectively.
- That we would grow in being distinct from the world in love and holiness, while reaching the world with love and truth.
- That giving would be faithful, as well as joyful, consistent, and sacrificial.
- That we would see believers deepen in their relationship with the Lord as well as the lost receiving salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and being baptized.

Our Another Gospel? study has kicked off and you can still join in with us as we go through this study on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 (childcare offered – registration for it is required), and Monday nights from 6:30-8:00 (childcare not offered).

Chest Of Joash
The Chest of Joash provides an opportunity to give above and beyond the normal tithe. The money from it goes directly to work needed done on our building.
In 2 Chronicles 24 we find Joash repairing the temple and a chest was set outside of it for people to bring a tithe that was used to pay the workers restoring the temple. Verse 10 says, “And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.”
